Youth Support Worker

The Basement Project is recruiting for a full time Youth Support Worker on a 12 month fixed term contract.

Hours: Full time (35 hrs per week)
Salary £24,865.00-£28,417.00 per year, dependant upon experience

Our small and friendly team use their skills and expertise to work with young people and support them to create a foundation for independence. The Basement Project has two main areas of delivery, the Drop-in service, delivered from our main office in Bromsgrove; and the Floating Support service; where we go out to support young people in their homes and the community. This role will primarily be providing floating support across Worcestershire and will most likely be onsite at our main office once a week.

The ideal candidate will have some experience and knowledge of housing issues, benefits and the many other challenges that young people face and be able to start at the earliest opportunity. It is expected they will be able to take on a small caseload reasonably quickly, so will have skills in one-to-one client support work including advocacy work, negotiation and also group work delivery.

Volunteer as a Trustee


We are seeking new trustees to join our board. Trustees are volunteers.

We work with young people across Worcestershire who have multiple and complex needs whilst striving to live independently. The Treasurer will bring financial skills and experience to the role of trustee and our active board.

Charity board experience is desirable for all Trustee roles, but not as important a desire to make a positive contribution to the lives of young people.

  1. A DBS check is required for this role.
  2. A full induction will be provided.


Trustees are encouraged to attend board meetings 6 times per year on Mondays at 5pm.

In addition to board meetings, there are various working groups, one of which is the finance group. The treasurer would normally chair this meeting which is in person or online.
