Making a Clearer Future Possible

February 12, 2026

We’re delighted to share a new partnership that is already making a real difference to the young people we support.

Many of the young people who come to The Basement Project are facing more than just the risk of homelessness. Anxiety, low confidence and poor mental health can make everyday tasks feel overwhelming — even something as simple as booking and attending a health appointment. As a result, important needs often go unmet.

Eye health is one example. Some young people are struggling with their eyesight, but anxiety around appointments means they delay or avoid seeking help — impacting their confidence, independence and ability to move forward.

That’s why we’re so grateful to Specsavers Bromsgrove, who have generously offered to provide free eye tests and glasses to vulnerable young people accessing our services.

We’ve already seen the impact. One young person, supported by our team to attend an appointment, received both an eye test and glasses free of charge. The Specsavers team were patient and understanding, helping to put her at ease throughout the visit.

She later told us:

“My glasses have improved everything for me. Everyday tasks are much easier now that I can see clearly. Without my glasses I really struggle. I’m so grateful that The Basement Project and Specsavers have been able to help me.”

It’s a simple intervention — but one that can be truly life-changing.

Specsavers Bromsgrove will be working alongside us throughout the year, and we’re incredibly thankful to Amelia and the team for their generosity. Their support shows how powerful local partnerships can be in breaking down barriers for young people.

Could Your Business Make a Difference?

We’re always looking to partner with local businesses who want to create meaningful impact in Bromsgrove. Whether through donated services, staff fundraising or practical support, there are many ways to get involved.

If your business would like to support young people facing homelessness, we would love to hear from you.

Together, we can help more young people build brighter, more stable futures.
