Mediation could help.
We offer Mediation to families as part of our Homeless Prevention work but also to help re build relationships.
Do you feel no one is listening to you?
We can work with young people and their families (including under 16 yr olds)
Mediation gives everyone the space and time to explore their situation, to help improve relationships and reduce arguments.
Call us for more information on 01527 832993. You can refer yourself or be referred by someone you are working with.
What happens in mediation?
There will be separate meetings to introduce the service to you, your parents or guardians or anyone else who is relevant to your situation. We will not tell the other person what is said in these meetings.
When you and your family are ready everyone will meet together. The mediators won’t judge you or take sides. They are there to ensure that everyone gets a chance to have a say and listen to each other’s point of view.
Our trained mediators will help you both to think through what is going wrong and what you would like to change.
Mediation helps everyone to remain calm, so you can discuss your problems and come up with your own solutions.
Sometimes you may feel that you do not need to meet with the other person, as having the space to explore your situation helps you to manage what was happening
